The Loose Leash Walk: What you need to know

You probably want to enjoy taking your dog for a walk and yes, it's possible!

Picture
In this post, I want to share the skills and building blocks to creating a nice low-stress enriching walk with your dog.

As the wind practically blows my house down when I'm writing this and I'm expecting a power outage at any minute, I'll be honest. At-Home Enrichment for Your Dog

Need some ideas to keep your dog busy and tire him out while you stay home?

Picture
When it comes to raising our dogs, there are times when we can happily and willingly take them out and about for their enrichment and then there are times when you (and maybe your dog) would prefer to stay in. Picture

My own dog, Willow, goes through that phase at times too. She is much less likely to come inside when my kids are outside because she knows the potential for ball throwing is too high - So I have had to come up with some work around and I have had to build up her trust that it will be worth it!

There are many reasons why your dog might ignore you or get distracted by something else but all those reasons can be pretty easily summed up into 5 main categories. This will help you better understand how to start to work on the problem so that you can start getting better attention from your family dog!
