My name is Laura Gendron I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Certified Family Dog Mediator, and I hold degrees in Psychology and Animal Science. Over the past decade, I’ve combined my experience as a Veterinary Technician with my passion for helping families build stronger relationships with their dogs. Today, I offer personalized Virtual and In-Person Coaching and Consulting to support you and your four-legged companion. I believe that dog parenting should feel less like a struggle and more like an adventure. My goal is to help you discover the why behind your dog’s behaviors and give you the tools to support them in the best way possible. But my journey is more than certifications and experience—it’s deeply personal.
My dog Willow has been one of my greatest teachers, showing me the power of patience, understanding, and creative problem-solving. As a mom of two, I also know how chaotic family life can be and how important it is to find practical, compassionate approaches that work for everyone—including your dog. I started Miss Behavior in 2008 with a mission to empower dog owners to better understand their pets and create strong, lasting bonds. Whether through private training, virtual coaching, or my membership programs, I focus on making training accessible, science-based, and personalized to your unique needs.
When I’m not working with clients, you can find me on the pickleball court, brainstorming training games, or enjoying life in New Hampshire with my family (and probably a coffee in hand). If you’re ready to start this journey—or even if you’re just curious—I’d love to help. And if I’m not the right fit, I’ll happily connect you with someone who can. Because, at the end of the day, my mission is to help you and your dog thrive together. |
I believe...
Dogs are more than pets. They are family and as family, building and maintaining a trusting relationship is everything.
Dogs must be understood from the inside out. In order to meet our dog's needs, we must first learn what they are.
The family that raises the dog is as important as the dog. Understanding the needs, goals, and expectations of the family is a big part of my job as coach, teacher, and consultant.

Behavior problems stem from needs that are not being met and it's important to address those needs so they don't pop up somewhere else
The best gift we can give our dogs is a feeling of safety and that comes with agency and choice. While boundaries are the frame that holds everything in place, we should be flexible within those boundaries so our dogs can grow, learn, and build resilience.
Collaboration is key to building a team for our dogs and their families. When we work together, we can create an essential supportive system for dogs, their families, and the pet professionals fighting for them.

The Inspiration Behind It All
"It only takes one dog to inspire a career in animal behavior and training. For me, that was dog was named Coral. A young island mix, when I worked in a kennel during high school and met this girl, she was a mess. Improperly socialized, terrified, and very smart. She was THE dog. The first inspiration who sadly only lives on in memory but who got me started on my path to help others avoid the same mistakes."
A little more about me...You’ll often find me at my desk, on the go, or diving into a creative project. I’m known for my passion for learning, creating, and embracing new opportunities. I thrive on trying new things and sometimes find it hard to say no to exciting projects.
I also love technology, which fuels my enthusiasm for creating webinars, courses, social media content, and templates. I’ve been described as quiet, passionate, and always looking ahead to my next big project or idea. Teaching is at the heart of everything I do. Whether it’s teaching about dog behavior one-on-one or on a larger scale, it’s my true passion. I always thought I’d grow up to be a teacher—or, on some days, a dentist—but my love for animals (and my introverted, shy younger self) led me down this fulfilling path. When I’m not working, I’m most passionate about spending time with my family, playing pickleball, and going on adventures. You can also find me listening to podcasts, being a mom, or working on creative designs and graphics. |
Miss Behavior's Crew
Willow: Willow is the newest addition to the family. She is now almost 7 years old, as of October 2023. Adopted in October 2018, she originally came from NC and was picked up as a stray. She was brought north through Pet Tails Rescue, based out of Northwood, NH. She is still full of spunk, intelligence, a strong desire to learn, and high play/chase drive. Lovingly referred to as my Wild Willow, she is also the reason why we only have one dog. She is plenty of dog for our household and struggles to trust other dogs enough to safely allow them into her bubble. Through her personality, she has served as a great teacher to many. You can follow her hashtag on social media to see her famous zoomies! #wildwillow Pickles and Ollie: A Lovebird and Quaker parrot, respectively, this pair was brought into the Gendron household one at a time and have bonded beautifully since! 7 Chickens: Introduced in 2024 - Mr Lemon, Ms Poppyseed (pictured), Ms Mango, Ms Banana, Ms Parsley, Ms Ginger, Ms Peach |
