My name is Laura Gendron I'm a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, a Certified Family Dog Mediator, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and an Associate's Degree in Animal Science. For 10 years, I worked as a Veterinary Technician and now offer Private Virtual and In-Person Coaching and Consulting for you and your family dog. But that's what I do, not who I am. I'm a self-proclaimed "behavior nerd", with a love for teaching, podcast-obsessed, a mom of two, a wife, a creative entrepreneur, a community networker, and a lifetime learner. I started my business, Miss Behavior, in 2008 and I am constantly seeking and implementing ways to teach you how to better your life with your four-legged companion, whether through doing much of the training for you, offering online options, or listening to you and thinking beyond the box.
If you struggle with the day to day understanding of your dog and need to find ways to make life and dog-loving peacefully coexist so your relationship can blossom, I just might be the one to help! And if I can't, you better believe I'm willing to direct you to someone who can |
I believe...
Dogs are more than pets. They are family and as family, building and maintaining a trusting relationship is everything.
Dogs must be understood from the inside out. In order to meet our dog's needs, we must first learn what they are.
The family that raises the dog is as important as the dog. Understanding the needs, goals, and expectations of the family is a big part of my job as coach, teacher, and consultant.

Behavior problems stem from needs that are not being met and it's important to address those needs so they don't pop up somewhere else
The best gift we can give our dogs is a feeling of safety and that comes with agency and choice. While boundaries are the frame that holds everything in place, we should be flexible within those boundaries so our dogs can grow, learn, and build resilience.
Collaboration is key to building a team for our dogs and their families. When we work together, we can create an essential supportive system for dogs, their families, and the pet professionals fighting for them.

The Inspiration Behind It All
"It only takes one dog to inspire a career in animal behavior and training. For me, that was dog was named Coral. A young island mix, when I worked in a kennel during high school and met this girl, she was a mess. Improperly socialized, terrified, and very smart. She was THE dog. The first inspiration who sadly only lives on in memory but who got me started on my path to help others avoid the same mistakes."
A little more about me...Most days, you could find me in the car, behind my desk, or getting "lost" at HomeGoods or Hobby Lobby.
I am mostly known for my passions and multiple directions. I'm always trying something new and struggle to say no to new, exciting opportunities, always growing! I love technology, probably more than most in the industry so I really enjoy creating new webinars, course, social media shares, and templates. People often refer to me as quiet, passionate, and always looking for my next project. I love serving the world by teaching. Teaching is my truest passion, whether by teaching dog behavior one on one or on a larger scale. I actually thought I would be a teacher when I grew up... or some days, I thought I would be a dentist... but my love of animals and my very introverted ( and shy, at the time) personality pushed me in the direction of animals. The things I’m most passionate in life are dogs, my family, adventure, and shopping! When I’m not busy training and teaching, you can catch me being mom, listening to Podcasts, and on my computer, creating new graphics and designs. |
Miss Behavior's Crew
Willow: Willow is the newest addition to the family. She is now almost 7 years old, as of October 2023. Adopted in October 2018, she originally came from NC and was picked up as a stray. She was brought north through Pet Tails Rescue, based out of Northwood, NH. She is still full of spunk, intelligence, a strong desire to learn, and high play/chase drive. Lovingly referred to as my Wild Willow, she is also the reason why we only have one dog. She is plenty of dog for our household and struggles to trust other dogs enough to safely allow them into her bubble. Through her personality, she has served as a great teacher to many. You can follow her hashtag on social media to see her famous zoomies! #wildwillow Rosie and Ollie: A Lovebird and Quaker parrot, respectively, this pair was brought into the Gendron household one at a time and have bonded beautifully since! |
