What happens if your dog doesn't respond?
Two things could be at play
1. He's past his threshold and can't focus properly
2. He has you well trained
Remember, if it works FOR your dog, it will continue
If it stops working for your dog, the behavior will fade away.
If something else works faster in your dog's favor, the new behavior will replace the old one.
Example: If A = seeing you come in the door, B = jumping on you, and C = attention/touch/pushing from you and you ignore the jumping... it will go away, as long as you CONSISTENTLY ignore it but what if you do this instead:
A = You come in the door and tell your dog to sit
B = Your dog sits
C = He gets your attention
